In this blog, we discuss the limitations of AI like ChatGPT in veterinary advice, highlighting issues with accuracy and "hallucinations." We explore our work, combining large language models with expert systems for reliable pet triage and how our pet symptom checker, refined since 2006, now integrates LLMs for improved accuracy. The goal is to make this technology more accessible and affordable for veterinary practices.
