Our website provides services and information about services to veterinary practices. The Digital Practice Platform has a separate Privacy Policy, available here.

The Website may contain links and adverts for third party providers; if you click through such a link, you will be subject to the Privacy Policy of the website you are navigated towards, and will no longer be subject to ours.

What is the purpose of this Privacy Policy?

Digital Practice Ltd is a “data controller” which means we must tell you certain information when asking for your personal information. Our website contains several pages where you can provide us with information, for example if you register using our online form. Our registered address is Wey Court West, Union Road, Farnham, England, GU9 7PT.

We will mostly collect information relating to your organisation, including practice name, contact details, PMS used, etc, but if you are a sole trader we may process personal information relating to you to provide the dashboard and our services.

Legal Requirements and Law Enforcement

We may also disclose your personal information to third parties:

We have appointed EU Rep as our Representative under Article 27 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). We suggest that you check the policies of any other websites before giving them your personal information as we cannot accept responsibility for any other website.

Keeping your personal information

How we store your personal information

The security of your personal information is important to us.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal information. We use encryption technology where appropriate to enhance privacy and help prevent information security breaches. We use industry-standard measures and processes for detecting and responding to inappropriate attempts to breach our systems.

We may transfer of personal information from the UK to a country outside of the EEA. If we do, we will ensure that we enter into a data transfer agreement which gives you enforceable rights and legal remedies and provides adequate levels of protection for any personal information that is transferred outside of the EEA.

All third parties who provide services to the Website are required to sign contract requiring them to have appropriate technical, administrative and physical procedures in place to ensure that your information is protected against loss or misuse.

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers or on secure servers operated by a third party. Information on our third-party providers can be found above.

Modification of information

We may from time to time be required to modify information that you give us. In particular, we actively moderate the comment boxes and forum. Any comments made which are defamatory or otherwise illegal, or which at our complete discretion are deemed to be in breach of the code of conduct will be removed, in part or in full.

Retention of information

We only hold your personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes for which we collected your information.

We have set these timescales in accordance with any applicable legislation and where none exists then we will keep your information for the duration of your services contract and then for a period of 7 years after which time it will be deleted.

Access to information

You have the right to access information that we hold about you. If you wish to receive a copy of the information that we hold, please contact us or write to us at the address above.

Changing or deleting your information

You can ask us at any time to change, amend or delete the information that we hold about you or ask us not to contact you with any further marketing information. You can also ask us to restrict the information that we process about you.

You can use the check boxes on the forms we use to collect your information, or you can also request that we change, amend, delete your information or restrict our processing by emailing us at data@vethelpdirect.com or writing to us at the address at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.

Right to prevent Automated decision making

You have a right to ask us to stop any automated decision making. We do not intentionally carry out such activities, but if you do have any questions or concerns we would be happy to discuss them with you and you can contact us atdata@vethelpdirect.com.

Transferring Personal Information

You have the right to request that your personal data is transferred by us to another organisation (this is called “data portability”). Please contact us at data@vethelpdirect.com with the details of what you would like us to do and we will try our best to comply with your request. If may not be technically feasible, but we will work with you to try and find a solution.

Complaints

If you make a request to us under this Privacy Statement and you are unhappy with the response, you can ask for the request to be reviewed under our internal complaints procedure. Our internal complaints procedure allows your request to be reviewed by David Harris, our Data Protection Officer, who will do their best to try and resolve the issue.

Governing Law

The English courts will have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim arising from, or related to, a visit to our site, or use of our services. This Policy is governed by English law.
